The overwhelming majority of Republican leaders and officeholders have firmly swung in to back Ukraine in its fight against the unprovoked and illegal invasion by Russia.
America's two party democratic system means that some fringes who would in a European context be in some minor party out at the edge of the political spectrum. The handful of marginalized Republicans who have made excuses for Vladimir Putin or otherwise expressed ill-informed or weird opinions on the invasion are just that -- marginal.
The Republican Party can be proud of once again rising to the occasion to defend liberty and freedom around the world in truly Reaganite fashion. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy have been rock solid in their support of Ukraine, and they have the backing of their respective conferences to do so.
