SACRAMENTO -- With the Republican Party poised to make gains in the California legislature this year, former California Republican Party Chairman and candidate for Lt. Governor Ron Nehring today announced the support of Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC.
"We have a great opportunity this year to retake legislative seats this year, and I'm pleased to have the support of my friend Assemblywoman Connie Conway as we work together to maximize those gains," said Nehring. A claim made yesterday by another candidate was false.
As Californians struggle against some of the nation's most crushing taxes, the state's influential Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association's campaign arm also announced its support.
"Ron Nehring's record standing up for taxpayers is rock solid. He has opposed every tax increase dreamed up by politicians in Sacramento and he is a strong defender of Prop 13. We urge all California taxpayers to join us in supporting Ron Nehring for Lt Governor," said Executive Director Kris Vosburgh.
The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is the state's leading taxpayer organization, working to protect Proposition 13, taxpayers' rights, including the right to limited taxation, the right to vote on tax increases and promoting sound use of taxpayer dollars.
"Californians are being crushed under the weight of an enormous tax burden," said Nehring. "I'm proud to have the support of California's leading taxpayer advocates as we work toward the goal of making taxes lower and simpler."
