LOS ANGELES -- Continuing to consolidate GOP support as the June primary election approaches, former California Republican Party Chairman and Lt Governor candidate Ron Nehring today announced the endorsement of nine more Republican legislators in his challenge to incumbent Lt Governor Gavin Newsom.
The latest endorsements from Republican leaders include Senators Tom Berryhill, Jean Fuller, Ted Gaines, Steve Knight, Mike Morrell, Mimi Walters, Mark Wyland, Joel Anderson and Andy Vidak. Former Senate Republican Leader Dennis Hollingsworth is serving as co-chairman of the campaign.
"Ron Nehring's candidacy for Lt Governor dramatically strengthens our statewide Republican ticket. Ron's command of the issues facing our state and the reforms needed to restore California's competitiveness is unmatched," said State Senator Mimi Walters.
Ron Nehring served as Chairman of the California Republican Party from 2007 to 2011. He is supported by the California Republican Assembly, the California Young Republican Federation, Congressman Tom McClintock, Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway, and the county Republican committees of Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Sacramento, San Francisco, Amador, Mariposa, El Dorado, Inyo and Contra Costa Counties.
