SAN DIEGO -- Former California Republican Party Chairman and Lt. Governor candidate Ron Nehring today announced that well-respected former Reagan adviser Peter Hannaford has joined the Nehring for Lt. Governor campaign as Honorary Chairman. Mr. Hannaford served in numerous key roles for Ronald Reagan both during Mr. Reagan's terms as governor and his presidential campaigns.

From 1975 to 1980, Ronald Reagan was a client of the firm Mr. Hannford co-founded. In Reagan's 1976 presidential campaign Mr. Hannaford served as Director of Issues and Research. In the 1980 campaign he served as Senior Communications Adviser.
"Ron's public service experience, his knowledge of politics and his forward-looking ideas for our state mean that, as our Lieutenant Governor, he will be an energetic and effective activist," said Hannaford.
Mr. Hannaford is the author of eleven books including: The Quotable Ronald Reagan; The Reagans: A Political Portrait; Recollections of Reagan: A Portrait of Ronald Reagan; Remembering Reagan; Ronald Reagan and His Ranch: The Western White House, 1981-1989; and Reagan's Roots. He is also the author of books on George Washington and Calvin Coolidge and, his latest, Presidential Retreats.
