Jobs and unleashing California's economy
The truth is undeniable – California’s economy is lagging. While we are home to some of the most successful and recognizable companies in the world, Californians are suffering from sky-high unemployment and more poverty than any state in the country. Something isn’t working. Read more |
K-12 Education reform with more options for parents and students
As a state, California is failing its young people when it comes to education. Our fourth graders are ranked 47th in the nation in both reading and math. Eighth graders rank 45th in math and 42nd in reading. Anything short of a first class education potentially limits the quality of life a Californian can enjoy well into the future. Read more |
Making taxes simpler, fairer, lower and more competitive
California ranks as the worst state in America for business, and our outdated and burdensome tax system is a big reason why. Protect public safety: Repeal AB 109
Government's first responsibility is to protect the people and our liberties. AB 109, Jerry Brown's prison "realignment" program, seriously jeopardizes public safety and should be repealed. Protecting Second Amendment liberties
Ron Nehring is the only candidate for Lt. Governor to receive an "A" rating from the California Rifle and Pistol Association for protecting the rights of law-abiding gun-owners. Americans have a fundamental right to protect themselves, and that right is guaranteed by the Constitution's Second Amendment. The U.S. Supreme Court's historic 2008 decision in District of Columbia vs. Heller definitively affirmed that Second Amendment liberties are intended to protect the rights of individuals. California law should respect the Second Amendment rights of all Californians, as defined in the Heller decision. Read more |
Reducing drug abuse
We know drug abuse is a trap, especially for the young. We can have a state where fewer people fall into this trap, and instead reach their full potential.
Drug abuse and the addiction that often follows are traps that too many Americans have fallen into. With smart measures, we can reduce marijuana and other drug use while also reducing incarceration rates. Read more |
Curbing the lawsuit abuse that kills jobs
California is ranked as America's #1 "judicial hellhole" because of laws that make it easy for greedy trial lawyers to abuse the legal system for personal gain. Small businesses, their employees and customers are among the victims of this kind of abuse. Read more
